The highlight of the program is the grand parade that passes through the heart of Dublin. It features incredible floats, marching bands, and performances by various artistic groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, the first documented parade took place in North America, in New York City in 1762. It was organized by Irish soldiers serving in the British army. In Ireland, the tradition of parades only began to spread in the 1930s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally, the color blue was associated with Saint Patrick. The shift to green occurred in the 18th century, when the shamrock became a symbol of the struggle for independence.”<\/p>\n\n\n
