{"id":1031,"date":"2018-11-23T17:37:34","date_gmt":"2018-11-23T16:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/juliachodor.com\/blog\/?p=1031"},"modified":"2018-11-24T10:45:56","modified_gmt":"2018-11-24T09:45:56","slug":"100-years-of-independence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juliachodor.com\/blog\/100-years-of-independence\/","title":{"rendered":"100 years of Independence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 11, the Poles celebrated the hundredth anniversary of regaining Independence after 123 years of Russian, German and Austro-Hungarian annexation. On this occasion many events took place. In my report, I present images from four of them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">the Independence Run,<\/li>\n<li>the national anthem singing on Pi\u0142sudski Square,<\/li>\n<li>the Antifa march, which gathered about 70 people and<\/li>\n<li>the Independence March in which over 250,000 people took part.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Independence March was the main event but until the last moment, it was not sure whether it will take place because of the disputes and games between the two main political parties, where one of which tried to prohibit the march and the second to appropriate it. Fortunately, the march took place and turned out to be the march of Poles celebrating the hundredth anniversary of regaining independence, not a march of political parties. The atmosphere on the march was wonderful and very patriotic. You could feel that the Polish nation is regaining faith in itself.
